Shop 'til you drop!

Still vacation, but some of us just couldn't manage without an extra USK-meeting.

So this monday, Sven and Björn went to Eskilstuna's least glamorous shopping "mall".

Construction time again!

Construction time again was a record (A plastic pancake type of thing used to produce sound/music until the 1980s approximately, i.e before the arrival of the silly MP3:s…)  from the british synth group Depeche Mode. Of course, this song was Björn's favorite. Since then, Depeche mode has turned into something completely different. Yes, we know; life can be so depressing…

However, this tuesday – once again sunshine (in our souls!); USK-Eskilstuna went to the city library to document the construction plant outside. (A new house, almost finished!).
Some of our readers may remember that we have been there before! Feel free to travel back in time by using this blog!

And thanks for visiting!

Why I live at the P.O...

…is a strange short story by Eudora Welty. I (Björn) never had a clue what is was all about.
However, this tuesday we went to the old post office in Eskilstuna.

Many years ago this was the place to buy stamps and…eh…envelopes and such. Quite interesting!
The building itself it probably from some time around the 1950s (I did not have the time to google…) and something that a dictator probably would move into if one ever would have come to Eskilstuna.

The old P.O

Nowadays, it is a restaurant (Majsans husman) with great food and coffee!

Wayne's coffee!

Tuesday! USK Lunch at Wayne's coffee in Eskilstuna.
Minus 6 degrees Celsius. Not nice, but it'll soon get worse!
Fortunately, we have a lot cafés in Eskilstuna.

Consequently, once again a coffee and sketching meeting!

Sven's image shows the grey and cold outside and the nice and warm inside!

Lasses sketch!

Björn managed to sketch Wayne (the owner) himself.

Coffee and sketching, a great combination!

Due to the success last week, USK-ESKILSTUNA decided once again to sketch at a local café´. This tuesday we went to Espresso House. Great coffee – and great sketching!

Coffee and sketching but no training!

Tuesday meeting at the recently opened Amarant Café (close to the main hotel, Stadshotellet).
Moreover, the café is really close to a gym (it is in the basement, actually). Isn't that a great idea?

Well, Amarant offer great coffee and pastries, of course – but – we went there to do some serious sketching. So we did. And also, we took the opportunity have a series "fika"!

Life and death!

This tuesday we went to the Elim church, a baptist church close by. Håkan Karp, a colleague and a friend of Sven, let us in.

Swedes seldom visit church (except when getting married, baptized or during a funeral)…or when they are sketching the place, of course. However, most swedes tend to appreciate the calm atmosphere inside a church. This was especially true today, when we sketched different parts of the Elim church.

However, here are today's images (some of them, more will come later).
